Sporty Sporterson: Sports According To Me
O.k., let's be honest here. I'm not the world's biggest sports fan. I grew up with my dad and brother watching a lot of hellishly boring sports on t.v., like football and baseball and basketball. And the bottom line was there just wasn't enough of a plot line to keep me interested. Besides, sports always seemed so goddamn all-american, and the last thing that I wanted to be growing up was all-american. I did play soccer in high school, but as you all know, at that point in america's history soccer was pretty much the most unamerican sport going. We had a flying soccer ball holding a deflated football in its talons on our team jerseys. So that gives you a general idea of the sort of sporting background I'm coming from (pretty much non-existent). In the past couple of years a couple of sports events have blossomed on to my radar screen and boy do they ever kick ass. So for your own future sporting enjoyment here's my take on some sporting events that are really worth watching.
